This week, Digibytes opens up its new segment, From the Community! In this series the crew looks at community-made maps and game types, and decides which ones are worth your time. Alex is again joined by Michael and Nathan. The map this week is Wipeout: Sweeper Edition (the game variant is The Sweeper), by Azpekt297 & treez0. (note: the latter is treez-zero, as in the number, not treez-oh with the letter).
This map was a lot of fun, and would greatly benefit from a larger team size. The game type is a variant of Flood, so the aim of the game is for the survivors to stay alive for as long as possible while the infected hurl vehicles at them. Standing only on a pipe, the survivors have a limited area to run from side-to-side and jump up or down. The Flood, meanwhile, have the opportunity to teleport to the top of a ramp behind the survivors and, with the hit of a fusion coil, send warthogs and golf balls falling towards the survivors. This element is genius, creating the need for the survivors to constantly check in front and behind. We didn’t have the settings right, but we assume the winner is the survivor who had the most seconds as Last Man Standing by the end of the game.
Any further explanation really doesn’t do the map justice, so just watch the video, download it now, and enjoy!
