Capcom has confirmed the rumors that a free-to-play Dragon’s Dogma MMO is on the way.
The game was first spotted by Gematsu in this week’s Famitsu magazine. Players will begin their journey in the land of Lestaria where they’ll assume the role of an Awakened. Parties will also be supportive of up to four players, or players can venture off on their own with AI pawns for company. The game will also support up to 100 players in town lobbies for those seeking a party.
As far as combat goes, Dragon’s Dogma Online will follow the same formula as before, with the Fighter, Hunter, Priest, and Shield Sage classes available at launch, but players will be able to change their roles as they please.
Gematsu also noted that the characters creation feature has been slightly upgraded, with a number of new options available for players to customize their hero to his or her liking. Pawns will also be able to craft new armor and weapons for one another.
The current plan with the game will be to release the game piece by piece in large updates released upon a set schedule. At the time however, the game has not been confirmed for western territories.
