343 Industries has announced that they now plan to group-test their upcoming content updates with beta programs as part of an effort to resolve the game’s online issues that have plagued the game since launch.
The first update that will kick off the beta program will make some major changes to elements of the online experience such as matchmaking and the party system. The beta began for select fans in North America on Friday and will take place throughout this weekend.
“Given the scale of the update, which includes changes to the Halo: The Master Chief Collection matchmaking experience and party system, we are opening it up to members of the Xbox One Preview program to provide additional testing in an ‘at home’ environment to ensure the official release is the best possible experience for players,” the studio said.
If you’re curious as to how you can become one of the “select fans” in the beta program, only players who have reached a certain level of experience with the game will be invited to partake in the events.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection launched on Xbox One last year on November 11. Let us know in the comments below if you’re one of the many players experiencing issues while playing the game online.
