More Details on Destiny's Next Update

If there's a game that's received as much post-launch attention as Halo: Master Chief Collection, it's Destiny with its consistent tune-ups and tweaks. Weapon tweaks

After recently discovering that Shotguns received less PvE love than Peter Dinklage’s voice acting, Bungie buffed all Shotgun damage in PvE by 100%, doubling its damage output against minions of the Darkness. They also increased Pulse Rifles’ DPS by 9.7%.

Meanwhile, Auto Rifles, Hand Cannons, and Fusion Rifles were slightly nerfed.

Faction Reputation Menu

The Faction Rep Menu (as seen below) is a handy addition to the pause screen, where players can immediately check their reputation for each and every faction in the Tower no matter where they are.

David Candland, the Design Lead for Bungie’s User Interface Team, said of the feature:

“We’ve created a way for you to see your faction reputations and weekly marks without having to run from vendor to vendor in the Tower. Now this information is never more than two clicks away!”

He went on to say that the team is working on a lot of new features, but this one had less impact on the Test Team to implement. This may mean we’ll see some more User Interface features in the near future.

Surprise in store for Strikes

Interestingly, Bungie’s DeeJ also dropped a hint on seeing a change in Strikes following the next update, which they should announce this coming week:

“Thanks for playing. Thanks for sharing. And thanks for waiting patiently for the next game update. We’re excited to tell you about what it holds in store for Strikes next week.”

Heavy Ammo fix

Last, but certainly not least, comes the Heavy Ammo fix. As all Destiny players have experienced at some point, Heavy Ammo tends to disappear upon dying, encountering a cutscene, or returning to Orbit. This is incredibly frustrating, especially when running through Raids or the Weekly Nightfall.

The science behind the Heavy Ammo glitch is quite interesting, as is the method of fixing it. All you need to know is this: it will be fixed, hopefully by the end of the month.

In other Destiny news, Bungie recently announced that their next expansion, the House of Wolves DLC, will allegedly release in May.
