With a “special ‘thank you’” video from the game’s producer, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, Capcom shared that the recently released Resident Evil HD is the company’s “fastest selling digital title in history across North America and Europe.”
Likewise, Capcom added that the game’s January 20th release broke the record for biggest day-one sales for a digital title on the PSN, a claim backed up by Sony’s recently released January sales charts, placing Resident Evil HD in first place on PS3 and PS4, just beating out the month’s other big zombie game, Dying Light.
Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi goes on to say not only how great it has been to see the positive reactions to the game, but also to point out that it is “thanks to the passion and support” of fans and the dedication of his team that this latest remake of the original Resident Evil was able to become a reality.
An HD remake of the 2002 Gamecube remaster of the 1996 original, this latest incarnation adds an even greater layer of polish, bringing the iconic survival horror game to PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Have you played it yet? What did you think? Let us know in the comments below.
