Another year, another Call of Duty game set to be released in the Autumn. This time, Treyarch are the developers responsible for continuing the series, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg has today confirmed. Treyarch’s Call of Duty track record currently consists of World at War as well as both of the Black Ops games. World At War introduced the ever-popular zombies mode to the series and Hirshberg claims that the next game will also be “loaded with innovation”. Here’s hoping. Moreover, Black Ops titles apparently remain “the biggest selling titles in the franchise history”. Here is Hirshberg’s statement in full.
“This fall’s game will be Treyarch’s first on the three-year development cycle. It will be loaded with innovation, and we’re excited to share more details with our community soon.”
It’s not yet clear what type of FPS the next Call of Duty game will be in regard to the setting, but we are sure to find out more before long. Where would you like the series to head next?
