Arguably one of e-sport’s greatest tournament, The International 5 has sold the last of its tickets in less than 10 minutes. The first wave only survived the buyers onslaught for roughly 6 minutes; and the second wave of tickets that Valve put out for the hopeful buyers was sold faster still in roughly 4 minutes. This is faster than compared to last year’s where according to Valve, all the tickets were sold in about an hour. The tickets were on sale for $99 USD but you can bet if you look on eBay you’ll find the tickets there for jacked up prices.
Last year’s tournament had the community pitch into the prize pool of an astounding $10 million to be divided up to the tournament winners and runner up competing teams. The community would pitch in buy purchasing the Compendium which rewarded the players with in game items and unlocks new rewards for each milestone it hits in relation to how much money the Compendiums make worldwide.
The International 5 or TI5, will be running from August 3rd to the 8th and will be held at KeyArena in Seattle, WA. I’m honestly more excited for the TI compendium when that comes out with all of its glorious extra items in game! That said I can’t wait for the amazing matches and the crazy long matches between the world’s best teams.
