During Destiny‘s latest Weekly Update, Bungie revealed some new details on increasing Vault size for Guardians around the world. Within the update, the developer also revealed that one of the PlayStation 4’s newest features, the long-awaited Suspend and Resume, won’t work with Destiny just yet.
The PlayStation 4’s Suspend and Resume feature is just one of many new features that launched with the latest 2.50 system update. The feature itself allows players to quickly switch from Rest Mode to powered-up, so they can jump in and out of their games right where they left off.
According to the PlayStation Blog, this feature is supported by “nearly all” of your PlayStation 4 games – it appears that Destiny does not fall under that list.
Bungie’s Player Support team took to the Weekly update to announce the information to Destiny players on the PlayStation 4.
“The 2.50 Firmware update for the PlayStation 4 will implement a Suspend and Resume function on 3/26. This function will not work with Destiny at this time. Functionality for the Suspend and Resume feature will be enabled for the 1.1.2 Update. Read more about this feature here.“
Given that the PlayStation 4 didn’t launch with Suspend and Resume, it’s unsurprising and entirely understandable that support for the feature would have to be manually implemented into Destiny.
What’s more, given that Destiny‘s 1.1.2 update will launch some time in April – ahead of the House of Wolves expansion in May – players won’t have to wait long to take advantage of the feature.
Alongside the Suspend and Resume announcement, Bungie revealed that Destiny‘s Vault space will see a decent increase in size, and the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3’s limited memory somewhat hindered the Xbox One and PlayStation 4’s Vault size.
Destiny's 1.1.2 update will launch some time in April. The upcoming House of Wolves expansion will allegedly release on May 19.
