Nintendo revealed on the Japanese version of their website that re-releases of some difficult-to-find amiibo, including Villager, Little Mac, and Captain Falcon will be making their way to Japan sometime in May. No announcements for other territories were included.
In the post, Nintendo explains that the process of issuing more stock of amiibos that have sold out quickly can be a tedious process, taking months between the start of production and the time they finally reach store shelves. Many even require work by hand according to the website.
Any future amiibo re-releases will depend on consumer demand, retail requests, and on a case-by-case basis.
Sales for amiibos were revealed to be huge last month at Nintendo’s quarterly investor address. Marth will be returning to America soon and a Gold Mario was announced to be joining the lineup as well.
