Even as only episode 1 out of 5 of the studio’s current game, Life is Strange, has been released, Dontnod Entertainment is already looking to the future.

Speaking with Siliconera, Jean-Maxime Moris, Creative Director at Dontnod, spoke to the possibility of a sequel from the developer’s other IP, Remember Me, dropping a hefty surprise by saying, “We know what we would do for Remember Me 2. The main story has been written we know what we would add to the recipe. We know what we would fix. It’s a game that’s ready to be made, but that decision is Capcom’s to make.”

Remember Me, published by Capcom, launched in 2013 to mixed reviews but was overall a stylish game with the interesting premise of being able to hack into, and change, people’s memories. Featuring the intriguing locale of ‘Neo-Paris’ and sporting a butt-kicking female protagonist, it’s not much of a surprise that Dontnod has more of the story to tell.

Max and Chloe, the two protagonists of Life is Strange.

Sure to not get too ahead of themselves however, Moris added that, at the moment, Life is Strange is the team’s primary focus. But even there, they are already looking forward. “I really hope we will be able to work on more Life is Strange [beyond the five episodes],” Moris said. “We need to capitalize on what we have done. It is a balance of trying different things and capitalizing on what we know. For Season 2 we started bouncing ideas off each other. Obviously we need to see and Square Enix needs to see how the first season does to really decide whether we kick it off or not. So, it’s not in the works, but we have started the very early stages of conception…”

With only a single episode out for Life is Strange, any second season is, at the very least, a long way out. Nonetheless, its nice to know the folks at Dontnod are confident in what they’re building. Following the pilot’s January release, the Gamespresso review of Life is Strange noted the game’s potential, even if the episode did get off to a rocky start.
