Twitch has confirmed that user accounts on the online streaming service has been compromised.
“There may have been unauthorised access to some Twitch user account information,” said Twitch. “For your protection, we have expired passwords and stream keys and have disconnected accounts from Twitter and YouTube. As a result, you will be prompted to create a new password the next time you attempt to log into your Twitch account.”
While Twitch doesn’t store information such as full credit or debit card information, it does remember your card type, truncated card number and expiration date. Twitch usernames, email addresses, and passwords may have all been compromised as well.
In response to the situation, Twitch has reset all passwords and disconnected stream keys from Twitter and YouTube, requiring users to create a new password the next time they log into their Twitch account.
