Valve and HTC are developing a VR headset

Another set of companies has entered the competitive market of VR headsets, Valve and HTC. At this week's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, smartphone developer HTC revealed they've partnered with Valve in creating a VR headset called Vive.The Vive will use Valve's SteamVR tracking technology and be able to track your physical movement in-game without the need of a controller. While the final specs haven't been revealed, Vive is expected to have two 1200 x 1080 screens with refresh rates of 90 frames per second.

HTC also revealed that companies such as Google, HBO and Lionsgate were all committed to making content for their VR headset as well. So does this mean we’ll get to battle White Walkers with Peter Dinklage in the near-future? It better.

Vive will be shown off at GDC next week with developer kits shipped out soon. The consumer version is slated for a late 2015 release date.
