Today Dead Island 2 developers announced that the game would be delayed until some time next year.
The announcement was made on twitter via the official twitter account for Dead Island 2 with a link to a longer post explaining why the game was delayed. The developers are looking to create a game that will take the Dead Island franchise to the “next level” and have many new features to implement in the game.
Though some fans will be disapointed others will be relieved that the developers are serious about making sure the game is worthy of the series; delaying the game will ensure developers have all the time they need to perfect the game and keep fans satisfied.
We have been looking at the game long and hard, and we have decided we didn’t reach that goal we set out to achieve quite yet. This is why we have decided to delay Dead Island 2 to 2016. We know that our fans will be disappointed by this news, but by giving Dead Island 2 more time we are confident that everyone will get a better game to play as a result.
Dead Island 2 is not the only new game in the franchise with a coming soon sticker on it. Dead Island Epidemic is a MOBA styled multiplayer that is currently in open beta so fans who are desperate to get something to sink their teeth into can go give that a try.
Although Dead Island 2 has been set back to 2016 that could just be precaution so there won’t need to be any more delay’s. Hopefully the game will be completed and ready to ship for this year or at the very least the start of next year.
