Grand Theft Auto V PC currently holds the record for most simultaneous players on Steam playing a non-Valve game.
During its first full day of release, Grand Theft Auto V PC peaked at 300,452 players playing at once on Valve’s game streaming service, Steam, reports Gamesindustry.biz. This currently sets the record for most concurrent players playing a non-Valve game on Steam, beating the former record holder, 2011’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, by over 20,000 players.
This number however does not hold a candle to the Valve-developed Dota 2, which had almost 800,000 players in the same stretch of time.
The long awaited PC release of Grand Theft Auto V shipped worldwide April 14. Make sure to check out all of Gamespresso’s coverage.
