”I’m participating in the bluenose half marathon and am training with them. I’m very much a nerd and know that the community is super responsive and supportive when it comes to fundraising so I thought I would plan an event that would be aimed towards that.”
We spoke with Ms. Harrison Thursday morning regarding the matter. She also mentioned that if she raised $500 from fellow geeks and nerds, including what was raised from this event, she will run the half marathon in cosplay.
This is a subject that is very near and dear to many a heart and it is exciting to have something as influential as video games bring in awareness to this cause. There is a story about a young boy who had leukemia and was able to escape the pain by playing video games. It is definitely worth a read.
If you are in the Halifax, Nova Scotia area and are interested in helping out, please let Ms. Harrison know. It is for an amazing cause and we would all appreciate any help.
So go ahead, play some games and remember to support those who need you the most!
