Skullgirls is a 2D fighter from studio Lab Zero. The game has been around for a couple of years now, and will soon be reaching out to more consoles.
It has been announced that Skullgirls will be coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita this summer. The game will be released under the name Skullgirls 2nd Encore. The release on the PS4 and PS Vita will come with some new features. The game’s story mode will now come fully voiced, featuring “some of anime’s best and brightest.”
Skullgirls 2nd Encore will add a challenge mode, which has players face off against opponents with a variety of unique battle conditions. There will also be a trial mode, which tests players by having them perform combos. Also being added is a survival mode, where gamers will see how long they can last against an endless wave of foes.
Skullgirls 2nd Encore will have a full Platinum Trophy Set. There will be cross-play across all three PlayStation systems, meaning owners of the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PS Vita will all be able to battle each other. The PlayStation 4 version of Skullgirls will support PlayStation 3 peripherals, so you can use your old fight stick on the PlayStation 4. 2nd Encore will also feature PS4/PS Vita cross-buy, meaning that those who buy it for one system will receive it on the other.
Skullgirls 2nd Encore will arrive on the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita this summer. The title is available on the Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3.
