The announcement of the next Assassin’s Creed game in the franchise took nobody by surprise as we found out that the new title, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, will be set in London 1868 at the time of the industrial revolution.
Ubisoft revealed the debut trailer that confirmed the title and showed us our new protagonist Jacob Frye. It also marks the first Assassin’s Creed game to feature a secondary female playable character in the form of Evie Frye, twin sister of Jacob. This could be a response to the controversy surrounding Ubisoft‘s cost to animate female models in Assassin’s Creed Unity.
The game seems set for the Assassins to once again lead a revolution, allying themselves with the lower class citizens and rallying against the Templars that have infiltrated the high rungs of society.
The cinematic trailer was accompanied by pre-alpha gameplay showing the protagonist utilizing new gadgetry to roam around the city, the recreated Victorian London as the player raced in pursuit with a horse and carriage and new environments and territories to take over as part of stronghold missions.
No doubt Ubisoft will be updating us over the next few months with more of what is to offer in the new installation in the series. The game has had a date set for October 23rd for XboxOne and PS4 users, and a date of Autumn 2015 for PC.
