Final Fantasy XI is a MMORPG by Square Enix that launched way back in 2002. It was announced that the final story arc for the game will start today.
The last updates for Final Fantasy XI are titled Rhapsodies of Vana’diel, and will begin today with The Goddess’ Gala. The first chapter is a two-part campaign. From April 27th through May 11, players can earn items in the Assault – Nyzul Isle Uncharted Area Survey Mysterious Item Campaign. From May 11th to May 30th, the Additional Seal Battlefield Spoils Campaign will be underway. During this campaign, defeating certain monsters will earn players items, specifically items for crafting high-end gear. From now until the end of May, players will receive double experience and capacity points. There is also a special chest that players can collect once that will contain Atma (one of eleven varieties), one piece of lunar Abyssite, or 100,000 Cruor. Players who had an active Final Fantasy XI account will be welcomed back to play for free from May 15th to May 25th. Gamers will need to migrate their account to the Square Enix account system in order to take advantage of the offer. Those who wish to purchase the game can buy the Final Fantasy XI: Ultimate Collection Seekers Edition for $9.99, and the “Seekers of Adoulin” Expansion pack for $4.99. You can purchase them here. This offer will last until June 1st.
