Hideo Kojima creator of the Metal Gear series has a had a rough time recently with with him leaving Konami and the studio promising more Metal Gear games without him; at one point his name was even removed from images advertising Metal Gear Solid V before being returned.
Now that Kojima is soon to be a free agent in the world of game development other developers are sure to make some offers; the latest Silent Hill game which he was working on has been cancelled despite the game being highly anticipated.
Coffee Stain Studios, the creators of Goat Simulator, have jumped up and publicly offered Kojima a place with them- though this could just be a publicity stunt considering the GoatZ DLC was released yesterday.
Either way they added his name to the game’s “extra special thanks” section of the credits in a picture displayed on their official Facebook page. Just under his name is a call to bring back the recently cancelled Silent Hills game along with a small comment and invitation to Kojima.
We heard that Hideo Kojima was removed from the credits for Metal Gear Solid 5 so we added him to the credits for Goat Simulator.
You’re always welcome to work with us Kojima!
It is expected that Kojima will be leaving Konami at the end of the year when his contract runs out; it would seem he was never contracted for the games themselves only a period of time which would seem to be a strange move considering his contract ran out before the completion of the now cancelled Silent Hill game.
The demo for the cancelled Silent Hill has been removed from the US Playstation servers however for EU players P.T is still currently available for a re-download although this may not be so for much longer; if you didn’t get to download it in time you could always look to ebay for PS4 listings with the game installed (yes, people are selling them for a lot of money).
It’s difficult to say what Hideo Kojima will do once he’s left Konami at the end of the year. At least he knows there is at least one developer offering him a space…
