Mortal Kombat X has been confirmed to be receiving a new costume pack for those players who want to play with more unique looking characters. The series creator, Ed Boon, confirmed on twitter that the pack will include three costumes to pay tribute to the nation of Brazil.
This costume pack will add a soccer/football outfit for Johnny Cage, a Gaucho outfit for Kung Lao and a Capoeira uniform for Liu Kang; covering several areas of Brazilian culture. For those who don’t know what the terms mean: A Gaucho is a cowboy from the southern region of the country and Capoeria is a style of Brazilian martial arts. Whether you call it soccer or football, it’s incredibly popular in Brazil.
The new costumes will be bright and very different to the typical Mortal Kombat costumes. No other information was given along side the initial image that was tweeted by Ed Boon; we can expect that the pack will be arriving soon but we don’t know exactly when yet or how much it will cost.
However all content for Mortal Kombat X is available in the Mortal Kombat X Kombat Pass; with this users have access to the additional characters such as Jason Voorhees. The costume pack itself are for characters already available in the main game so you will not need any added characters to help you add some colour back to the screen.
The announcement follows a leak from last week which claimed this pack would be coming soon which makes the other information provided in the leak a lot more likely to be correct.
Mortal Kombat X was first released in April last year for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. The game is being ported for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, it’s expected to be released during the second or third quarter of this year. A mobile version of the game has been released for iOS and Android; this is available for anyone with those devices to download.
