Square Enix's DirectX 12 Tech Demo
Yesterday at Microsoft's BUILD 2015 conference, Square Enix alongside NVidia demonstrated just what they can do with the new DirectX 12. Even if it did take four GTX Titan video cards to pull off, the video looks stunning as it boasts 63 million polygons per scene, an impressive 6 to 10 times as many as was possible with the previous version of DirectX. The tech used to run the video may be out of most of our price ranges, the video cards alone costing around $4000, but it's certainly something to keep an eye on. Here's what Final Fantasy XV Director, Hajime Tabata, had to say about it:"Our team has always pursued cutting edge pre rendered and real time CG. As a part of the technical development, we created this demo using world class, real time CG technology with generous support from the leading edge software and hardware providers - Microsoft's Windows 10/DirectX and NVidia's GeForce GTX. The efforts from this project will power future games development as well as Final Fantasy XV, currently a work in progress."
