Vinyl records being released for two classic soundtracks
Two things that I really enjoy are vinyl records and video games. So, I was pretty excited to hear that the soundtracks to two Sega classics were going to be released on vinyl. The beat 'em up Streets of Rage --originally for the Genesis-- and the adventure RPG Shenmue --originally released for the Dreamcast-- will be remastered on vinyl later this year by a new record label entitled Data Discs.Data Discs is supposedly the very first record label that exists for the sole purpose of releasing the soundtracks of video games on vinyl. The London-based label will be working with some of the industry's biggest names to bring both classic and modern game soundtracks to vinyl.

Both games will be fully remastered and pressed on 180 gram vinyl. Also included with each title will be lithographic prints.
Pre-orders begin on May 30, so I guess it’s time to dust off the old record player and hipster glasses while I wait.
