Wii U loses console war in April badly
According to NPD numbers, the Wii U accounted for only 10% of current generation console sales in April. The Wii U apparently sold only 43,000 units, while the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sold 187,000 and 175,000 units respectively. This comes on the heels of Ubisoft, who has supported the Wii U graciously, stating that only 1% of their total game sales came from Wii U.All Nintendo had to say was that the sales numbers were up 15% from last April for the Wii U. While the system is putting up decent numbers in Japan, it continues to struggle in the non-holiday season in North America.

Will Splatoon turn it around for Nintendo? The game releases on May 29th to much anticipation, especially in North America. Hopefully, we will also see something great lined up for the Wii U at E3 as well. Only time will tell. For all things Wii U, and its potential summer savior Splatoon, stay tuned to Gamespresso.
