With the first week of sales now in, the UK sales monitor GfK Chart-Track is reporting that Batman Arkham Knight was not only at the top of the charts this week, but outsold The Witcher 3’s first week sales and Arkham City’s, making it the fastest selling game this year and the fastest selling for the franchise.
Arkham Knight takes the number one spot from last week’s hot seller, Lego Jurassic World, making it the forth WB game this year, following Dying Light, Mortal Kombat X, and Lego Jurassic World, to grab the top seller spot, an impressive accomplishment on its own. The last time a publisher had at least four top sellers in the first half of the year, it was EA in 2012, with FIFA12, Kingdoms of Amalur, SSX, Mass Effect 3 and Fifa Street.
The top ten sellers for last week are as follows:
- Batman Arkham Knight
- Lego Jurassic World
- The Elder Scrolls Online
- Yoshi’s Woolly World
- The Witcher 3
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
- FIFA 15
- Destiny
- Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward
Our review of Batman Arkham Knight applauded the changes and additions made to the core gameplay, but found the numerous tank battles to be repetitive and not in keeping with the high quality of the rest of the game.
