Up until today, Black Ops 3 was only confirmed for the PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4. Activision just released a blog post regarding the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, as well as the Wii U.
Activision has made it very clear that the newest Call of Duty was designed to harness the full power of the current generation consoles and the PC. However, they are currently working with developers Beenox and Mercenary Technology on developing for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
There will be some ‘natural’ differences between the previous and current generations, bringing the co-op play down to only two people on the 360 and PS3, while the One and PS4 will continue to support 4 player co-op. More details on the differences between the two versions will be coming soon.
Unsurprisingly, the Beta will not be available to previous generation consoles, either – thats reserved for those that upgraded. (or those who own a PC.)
Anyone hoping for a Wii U version can continue to hold their breath: at this moment in time Activision is not planning on bringing the game to Nintendo’s latest console.
E3 is just around the corner, so expect to see more Black Ops 3 announcements during the conference.
