If you play Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare on the Xbox 360 or PS3, you’ll be disappointed to hear that the limit for new weapons has been reached.

The developers, Sledgehammer Games, have had to explain on their website in response to overwhelming fan requests to increase the arsenal, why new guns won’t be available.

Both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game have hit their ‘hard memory limit’, so even if they want to bring you new content, the developers can’t.

Which comes as a blow for players on last-gen consoles, because Sledgehammer are bringing two new guns to PS4, Xbox One and PC… They’ve tried to keep the gameplay available across platforms as much the same as they can; it looks like it’s the technology letting COD down (this time).

‘We have hit a hard memory limit on last-generation consoles. This memory limit prevents us from adding more weapons to those platforms.’ It’s not ideal, as the head Michael Condry continues, but it’s a ‘limitation that is outside of our control.’

Despite slight hardware issues, you will still be able to get the new DLC pack and Treyarch have said that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is going to be on Xbox 360 and PS3 too. You’re not completely down on your luck, if you want to get the most mileage out of your system.

(Although, in the after glow of E3, knowing the heavy hitting titles and technology that will be coming in the next year or so, there’s all the more reason to upgrade your console, really.)
