Shortly after the recent controversy surrounding late payments to game developers by PC digital game store Desura, its parent company has files for bankruptcy.
The news was confirmed to Gamastrua by Bad Juju’s head of developer relations, Lisa Morison, whose company acquired Desura from Linden Lab back in November.
“I asked Tony [Novak, CEO of Bad Juju] for confirmation and all he could tell me was, ‘The lawyers have said I can’t say anything or answer any questions yet, but yes it’s true,'” Morrison said.
So far, it’s unclear what will happen to Desura and if it will be sold off to another company, or if Bad Juju is able to potentially resolve their financial problems. A few developers have recently reassured owners however that their games are still playable, but it is unclear what would happen to them if Desura goes under.
