Fans of the Forgotten Realms universe will be delighted to know that a new game based off the popular table top game Dungeons & Dragons will be hitting shelves in late 2015 for both Xbox One and PS4.
While the exact release date for each console is currently up in the air, we do know that the PC, Mac, and Linux versions will assuredly release on September 8th, 2015.
The game goes by the name of Sword Coast Legends and is currently being developed by both n-Space and Digital Extremes.
Director of Sword Coast Legends, Dan Tudge, said fans “clamored” for a console release after the game was presented at the Game Developers Conference.
He went on to say:
“So we circled back and figured out how to do it without compromising our vision for PC gamers. This addition to our existing PC, Mac, and Linux versions ensures gamers will be able to have that classic D&D experience whenever, wherever, and however they want.”
Sword Coast Legends will apparently aim for that classic representation of tabletop adventuring in the form of a cooperative multiplayer game.
But that won’t come at the cost of a rich single player experience, as it seems the story is complex. Not only that, but it has a soundtrack featuring music done by Inon Zhur, of Dragon Age and Fallout acclaim. Apparently, the developers have also stated that post-launch content is important to them and will be supported in a “robust” way.
