Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will be a remastered version for the original game which is celebrating it’s 10th birthday next year. The series is primarily an Xbox exclusive with the original game being the only one to be released on PC which was discontinued for the platform over fears of piracy and poor sale figures.
Ferguson talked at little bit about the remastered game and said that they “built everything from the ground up”. He revealed that the Ultimate Edition will be featuring visual improvements, 4k resolution support, DirectX 12 and will not have a framerate lock. Additionally gameplay features from Gears of War 3 are being applied to Gears of War: Ultimate Edition and characters from the later games will be available for play in the multiplayer section of the game.
This comes without any news about Gears of War 4 coming to PC. When asked about it Ferguson replied that he had nothing to announce about the game yet which could mean more Gears of War is coming to the PC in the future.
No release date for the PC version of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition was announced however it will be released on Xbox One this August. Hopefully we can expect to see Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on PC soon after and more news about the franchise coming back to PC.
