With today’s patch for Blizzard’s Heroes of the Storm, including a host of new Diablo-centric content, and event dubbed the Eternal Conflict begins. The only temporary changes with the event seem to be a special daily quest to kill a treasure goblin for extra gold and a map pool change to focus on new battlegrounds. One of the two main content additions is the battleground, Battlefield of Eternity. The new battleground features two lanes with a large central objective area. Each team has an immortal that they must defend and help to defeat the enemy’s immortal.
The last immortal standing will be summoned to push a lane.
The other major addition is a new hero, The Butcher, a boss from Diablo III. The Butcher is a melee assassin hero that can charge in to start fights, deal area of effect damage or crowd control, and sustain in fights. Also forthcoming, later in the event, are heroes Leoric, The Skeleton King, and the Monk.
The patch includes a number of major hero and progression changes with a couple of new portraits. The full list of patch notes can be found on Blizzard’s website. No specific duration is known for the event, but Blizzard has referred to it as a “multiweek” event.
