Marek Tyminski, CEO of CI Games, has announced that Lords of the Fallen will be getting a sequel that will release in 2017. The shocking news is that it will be created without help from Lords of the Fallen’s lead developer Deck 13 Interactive.
Tyminski stated “We are not working with Deck 13 right now. We are starting the project, we start from the concepting, but we definitely will be working with a lot of partners.”
When asked about the reasoning behind the split. Tyminski stated that the matter was confidential, but went on to say, “We have spoken about certain things we could probably do after the release of Lords of the Fallen but at the end of the day we came to the conclusion, both sides, that it won’t happen, and as far as I know they have another project, and I wish them luck.”
Lords of the Fallen was released on October 28, 2014 for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It has reached over 900,000 units sold so far. The success has led to a “Game of the Year” edition release late next month.
Only time will tell the impact a new lead developer will have on the series.
