New Animal Crossing Board Game for Wii U
During Nintendo’s Digital Event, it was announced there would a new Animal Crossing game for Wii U. However, it isn’t a traditional Animal Crossing Game. The game, titled Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival, features a board game style infused with Amiibo.Rather than the traditional Animal Crossing gameplay of experiencing life in a small town, collecting bugs, fish, and fossils. Players roll a set a dice and traverse around a game board, landing on various events. These events range from finding rare items, to losing your hard earned bells. While few details regarding the game were shown, it is a safe bet to assume it will be a multiplayer party game that requires Amiibo.

As previously leaked, the game’s release will also feature four Animal Crossing themed Amiibo: Isabelle, K.K. Slider, Tom Nook, and Mabel Abel.
Currently, it isn’t clear what Amiibos will be compatible with the game. Most likely, it will be limited to the Animal Crossing figures.
The game quickly garnered backlash and criticism. Within hours, the official Youtube trailer was showered in dislikes and disappointment.
