Nintendo unveils Blast Ball for the 3DS
During the live stream of their World Championship tournament, Nintendo revealed a new shooter for the 3DS. The title is called Blast Ball and it is not your typical FPS.Instead of trying to get kills on the other team or capturing their flag, the object of the game is shoot a ball across the map into the a goal at the other end. The game is run as a 3v3 matchup and each player controls a mech as their avatar. In other words, this game is 3v3 soccer with guns and robots. Not too shabby.

What’s interesting to note is that the images shown so far show very similar aspects to the Metroid Prime series, most notably that of Hunters, which was also a handheld FPS. If there is any correlation is yet to be seen. As E3 unfolds, we’ll find out more.
