In an interview with Alphabeatic, Nintendo of Canada general manager Pierre-Paul Trepanier mentioned that Nintendo will be announcing some big partnerships at E3 this year. He states: “We still have those great, big third-party partners like Ubisoft who continue to invest in our platforms. In the next few weeks at E3 you’ll be hearing about more big third-party partnerships.”
Trepanier continues: “We would love to have [third-party titles] and you’ll hear in a few weeks about some interesting partnerships. We’ve already over the past year opened up and aggressively sought licensing deals in lots of different areas.”
This could be good for Nintendo. The Wii U has been kept going through the release of first-party titles such as Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart 8. Third-party support could really help the console out, and give gamers more great reasons to adopt the system.
Nintendo’s E3 Direct Presentation will take place on June 16th, at 9:00 a.m. PDT.
