Pip-boy app set to launch beside Fallout 4, along with real-world Pip-boy
At the recent Bethesda E3 press conference, a little something special was shown for any willing to drop $119.99 on the collector’s edition of Fallout 4: a real-world Pip-boy. Meant as a casing for your phone, it was announced Bethesda will be offering a Pip-boy app for iPhone and Android that operates as a second screen experience when playing Fallout 4. In the core game, the game’s menus and inventory are all examined on the screen of your in-game character’s Pip-boy. Now the same system can simply be held in the palm of your hand.Commenting on the fact that second screen experiences are usually little more than gimmicks, Todd Howard of Bethesda was quick to point out, even as a gimmick, this is the “best f***ing one I’ve ever seen.”
