Fallout is one of Bethesda's most popular RPGs and, along with The Elder Scrolls, is one of the franchises that really distinguish the company from others. With Fallout: New Vegas being the last installation in the series nearly 5 years ago, and two Elder Scrolls games since New Vegas, fans have been wondering what's been going on with Fallout, but it looks like this year is the year we get answers.Yesterday, Bethesda launched a new site that shook social media and rallied Fallout fans from hiding. It was a simple site with a one day countdown timer with the iconic Fallout "Please Stand By" broadcast image and after confirmation that it was officially owned by Bethesda and not some E3 hype hoax, fans rejoiced, eagerly awaiting more news.

Yesterday, Bethesda launched a new site that shook social media and rallied Fallout fans from hiding. It was a simple site with a one day countdown timer with the iconic Fallout “Please Stand By” broadcast image and after confirmation that it was officially owned by Bethesda and not some E3 hype hoax, fans rejoiced, eagerly awaiting more news.
The site was officially posted today as fallout4.com letting fans know for a fact that there will be an E3 reveal of the game on June 14th, something most expected even before the teaser. There is no release date announced as of yet, but there is also a pre-order available for Fallout 4 on the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC systems.
Lastly, there is an official full 3 minute trailer for Fallout 4 on the site that gives us a few juicy details, showing a slew of locations, a bit of some of the iconic enemies, and possibly confirming the return of a canine companion? The trailer has certainly got us excited.
Just for a bit of speculation from the following screenshots of the trailer, it appears that the character this time around will be a survivor of Vault 111 due to the actual image of Vault 111 opening and the back of the vault jumpsuit near the end of the trailer. It also seems that the location might be Boston this time around as the third image shows in the top left corner a sign that we can make out reading Scollay, potentially referring to William Scollay, or Scollay Square which was an old plaza in Boston up until 1962. With Fallout’s timeline being a sort of divergent future following World War 2 with the main theme being the fantastic “World of Tomorrow” concept of the 1900’s, Scollay Square could definitely be a place still very much alive in the Fallout universe even in the 2200’s!
