Just when we thought Konami were getting out of the console space, it appears as though their flagship Soccer series, Pro Evolution Soccer (PES), is getting another entry in Pro Evolution Soccer 2016.
PES 2016 will release on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC on September 15th in North America and September 17 in Europe.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 will feature Neymar on the cover, and according to Konami, will return to the series’ roots. Konami will be pressing forward with the Fox Engine for this entry and will reconstruct Master League from the ground up.
As far as gameplay improvements go, it appears as though Konami have improved upon collisions, leaving encounters to be much more visceral. This also requires a much faster reaction time while dodging tackles and setting up stronger counters. AI has also been given this treatment and for the grandstanders, the number of goal celebrations has been increased.
Pertaining to the popular Master League, visuals have been improved including dynamic weather, more player animations, and improved ball physics. Konami also promises we will see slicker gameplay and a higher focus on single-player. But Master League isn’t the only mode that will see changes, as myClub will be seeing player levels, a wide camera angle, new commentary featuring Peter Drury and Marco Hagemann, and the ability to import images on PS4 and PS3 to better replicate team emblems.
