According to the Splatoon blog, the first new weapon is the Carbon Roller. The Carbon Roller works similar to the Splat Roller, and excels in mobility. The Carbon Roller’ fling attack has limited range, but it allows players to use Burst Bombs and the Inkzooka.
The second new weapon that Nintendo is releasing for Splatoon is the Custom Dual Squelcher. The weapon has both a high rate-of-fire and range. While wielding it, players will have access to Squid Beakons and the Killer Wail.
Both of these weapons will be available at 7:00 p.m. PT. This has been the standard time that Nintendo has released new content for Splatoon, including other various weapons.
The new Splatoon weapons come ahead of next week’s North American Splatfest. This is an in-game event where matches will take place at night, with lights adorning the levels. The Splatfest was meant to take place on June 20th, but was delayed due to technical issues. The first North American Splatfest will take place on July 4th at 12:00 a.m. PT, and will run for 24 hours, ending at 11:59 p.m. PT.
Splatoon is available now on the Wii U.
