Star Wars: not for Lego Dimensions, says Disney
Vice president of Disney John Vignoocchi shot down the possibility of Star Wars becoming a part of Warner Bros Lego Dimensions, in an interview with IGN at E3 this year. The problem being that bringing Star Wars to a new game set to do very well - Lego Dimensions in this case, which operates in a way virtually identical to Disney Infinity - will have a negative impact on other games that offer cross-franchise compatibility with your favourite characters. He explained in the interview that while having Star Wars property in Lego Dimensions may boost sales, it would essentially kill off Disney Infinity. Good for Warner Bros, bad for Disney.

‘Don’t count on it,’ were Vignoocchi’s words in response to being directly asked whether Star Wars will ever come to Lego Dimensions. Disney’s own toy-to-life game Disney Infinity 3.0 will, however, feature characters from the Star Wars Rebel TV series, introducing another comparable notch to the belt of Lego Dimensions in the battle of creative gaming.
Also announced was Disney’s limited edition Star Wars Saga Starter Pack, exclusive for the PS3 and PS4 and Star Wars Rise Against the Empire Play Set, which Sony platforms will have access to nearly a month before anyone else.
So you’re not going to be seeing any lightsabers in Lego Dimensions any time soon, but there’s still a vast number of popular franchises making their way into the world of Lego; including The Simpsons, Doctor Who, Ghostbusters, Jurassic World, Scooby Doo and more.
