Wasteland 2 Dev reveals first gameplay and screens for Bard's Tale 4
Wasteland 2 developer inXile Entertainment published a new video for Bard's Tale IV on Thursday. This new video shows of gameplay for this role-playing game for the first time. I will include the trailer in this post. Bards Tale IV is in development using the latest iteration of the famous Unreal Engine, Unreal Engine 4.Something interesting to note is the singing featured within the video is more important than just a cool backing song. The lyrics are from the original Bard's Tale poem translated into Gaelic, as sung by Julie Fowlis.

inXile is seeking to fund Bard’s Tale IV through Kickstarter. It launched the game’s crowdfunding campaign earlier this week, seeking $1.25 million that they will double if it is met. At the time of writing this article, there was $1,024,724 pledged by 24,587 backers. There are 35 days left, and it seems that the project will make the amount they want/need it to. This makes sense, as the studio previously successfully used Kickstarter for Wasteland 2 and Torment: Tides of Numenera.
Using Kickstarter to fund has worked out well for this company before, and their goal is already almost met. I have high hopes for this company. I think part of the reason this works is because they don’t expect the entire amount, they double whatever is raised. I’m intrigued by this game, but I think I’ll wait to learn more before I make a judgement. RPG games tend to change a lot in development, and there just isn’t enough information for me to form an opinion just yet.
