The final expansion to StarCraft 2, Legacy of the Void, will have a few different editions when the game releases, Blizzard announced today.
The three different editions are the standard, Deluxe, and Collector’s editions. The Deluxe and Collector’s editions will come with digital items for other Blizzard titles. These items include an Archon Battle Pet in World of Warcraft, a Void Seeker Mount in Heroes of the Storm, and a Protoss Card Pack in Hearthstone.
The Collector’s Edition of StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void will also come with Protoss-themed portraits and character skins for Legacy of the Void, a hardcover StarCraft field manual, a DVD with special features and the game’s cinematics, and the game’s soundtrack.
All versions of Legacy of the Void will come with a StaCraft character for Heroes of the Storm. The character has not been announced yet.
Gamers can preorder the game right now. The standard version is $40, the Deluxe $60, and the Collector’s $80. Those who preorder will have immediate access to Legacy of the Void’s three-mission prologue, Whispers of Oblivion. The prologue is free and will be available to everyone at a later date, but those who preorder can play it now.
StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void will release on PC this winter. Blizzard also announced that the previous StarCraft 2 expansion, Heart of the Swarm, is now available as a standalone game, and no longer requires Wings of Liberty to play.
