Warner Bros. sets up the story like this: “When The Joker kidnaps Commissioner Gordon and holds him hostage at the Seagate Amusement Park, Batgirl and Robin must fight against the odds to save him and avoid falling victim to The Joker’s sinister plan. A Matter of Family is available across PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for those who own the $40 Arkham Knight DLC pass. People who don’t have the pass can buy the content on July 21 for $7. A Matter of Family was supposed to launch on PC, but it was delayed due to the technical woes that the PC version experienced.
The DLC was developed by Batman: Arkham Origins studio WB Games Montreal, not Rocksteady Studios who created the main game. However, Warner Bros says that the expansion was built using the same engine as the main game and therefore should run the same.
A Matter of Family is only the first of more add-ons, including extra missions, maps, skins, and more all of which will be developed Rocksteady Studios.
