Company of Heroes 2 gets new standalone multiplayer expansion
Sega has announced that Company of Heroes 2 will be receiving a new standalone multiplayer expansion pack called "The British Forces", set to be released on September 3 for $12.99. But the new expansion isn't just a cosmetic lick of paint to the old units. Sega confirmed that the expansion features a new gameplay options, a new tech tree for the new army, which purportedly requires a constant balancing act between mobility and defense to be played most effectively, whilst abilities are based around "staged events making the most of air raids and artillery." To top it all off, the expansion also features eight new multiplayer maps."Play as the unconquerable Britons and their motley-crew of soldiers! A force remarkable for its diversity, including Englishmen, Scotsmen, Welshmen, Irishmen – representing everyone from the working classes to the upper class elite of the United Kingdom,"Sega has also confirmed that the new expansion will put to use an improved set of motion captured animations for common animation sets, which will also be applied to all previous armies' animation systems.

To encourage pre-orders, Sega is also offering a 10% discount to orders on steam, and a 20% discount to those that already own a Company of Heroes game. Company of Heroes 2 has seen a surprisingly active multiplayer scene, and its battleground interactivity and impressive attention to detail is a hallmark of Relic’s strategy games.
