Update: According to a post from Game Informer, Microsoft has announced the date of October 13 is the incorrect date for the release of Fables Legend, saying “We look forward to opening the world of ‘Fable Legends’ to players this holiday, but don’t have anything more to share on specific release timing. The date listed in the San Diego Comic-Con Xbox recap video was incorrect and we apologize for any confusion.”
Original story is below.
In a video recap of last week’s San Diego Comic Con released by Microsoft, it appears that the company may have accidentally reveal that Fable Legends will be headed for a release date of October 13.
See it for yourself in the video below at the 1:50 mark.
Microsoft previously had not announced a date for the title, having only stated that it would be coming to Xbox One and PC this fall, featuring cross-play between the two platforms at release.
Fable Legends differs from previous games in the series such that it is free-to-play. Additionally, as opposed to its typical single player experience, players will join friends in a cooperative online mode as a 4 V 1 setup, where the 1 is the villain. However, all modes may be played in single player with AI. Microsoft has run multiple test phases for the game up to this point.

The game was announced two years ago at Gamescom, so an official announcement may be coming when Gamescom rolls back around in August.
