EA Sports NCAA Video Game Lawsuit Rises to $60 Million Settlement

This week, a judge has approved a $60 Million settlement, $20 Million more then the original $40 Million settlement, which will pave the way for the many young men to get paid for their appearances in EA’s NCAA football and basketball games.CBS sports reported that U.S. district judge Claudia Wilken approved of the settlement orally on Thursday.

Claims were raised against EA, the Collegiate Licensing Company, and the NCAA for using the names as well as likeness of players illegally.

Attorney’s have stated the maximum players can receive in payment’s is $7,200. So far, over 20,000 claims have been entered, with an extended deadline that goes till July 31st.

EA’s licensing deal with the NCAA ended in late 2013, with the last NCAA Football game being NCAA Football 14, and basketball ending in 2009 with NCAA Basketball 10.
