The Halo series originally debuted on the Xbox in 2001 and continues to be a core franchise on Microsoft consoles with its next iteration coming in the form of Halo 5: Guardians, coming to Xbox One on October 27 this year.
As far as the next game in the series goes, developer 343 Industries recently warned players against rushing through the new game, but promises surprises are coming in the new campaign. This past week at San Diego Comic Con, the 343 reaffirmed their commitment to reaching 60 FPS in the game.
343 boss Bonnie Ross said there are “hundreds” of stories from the Halo universe yet to be told, so we can only expect this massive sales number for the series to only increase from this point on.
