League of Legends ranked play offline due to recall bug
The popular MOBA game League of Legends has had to remove online ranked matchmaking after the discovery of a major bug. Developer Riot Games explained on their website that the bug is related to the in-game spell recall. The spell normally allows players to teleport back to their base after a short time. The bug removes the timer and allows players to teleport instantaneously to the base. The bug undermines the whole experience of the game, and can be used by all players. This makes fixing the problem that much more difficult for Riot Games as the bug is not tied to a single hero which they could temporarily disable. "Unfortunately, this particular issue can't be mitigated by disabling a specific champion or item so we've temporarily disabled Ranked while we develop a solution," Riot explained.

Riot Games have promised to release an update on the bug. With a total of 27 million people playing the game every day, hopefully it does not take too long for them to fix this issue.
