When news broke recently that Metal Gear Solid V will include micro-transactions, it was met mainly with disdain. In a move to reassure fans, MGS Community Manager Robert Peeler has gone into more detail regarding the matter.
While speaking to Angry Joe, when asked about the micro-transactions, Peeler states they’re “completely optional” and merely a different option to unlocking (whatever it may be) naturally through gameplay. He also notes the micro-transactions are likely going to be most appealing to new players who may have difficulty with their first Metal Gear Solid experience.
It’s nice to see (and hear) the micro-transaction issue being discussed and explained in such a confident and straightforward manner. From Robert’s lack of avoidance or vague responses, it looks like they’re going to work exactly as described. So there’s nothing to fear in regards to your experience should you choose not to use them.
