Piranha Bytes, the creator of Risen and Gothic, have announced their next game. The game will be for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
The game is called ELEX, and it’s described as an “eclectic, lavish, exhilarating, xenial” open-world role-playing game. The game is being developed in collaboration with the publisher of Darksiders, Nordic Games. It is due to release in winter 2016 for this generation.
“This is by far the most ambitious project for Piranha Bytes and Nordic Games to-date,” developers said in a statement. Nordic Games director, Reinhard Pollice also spoke about the game saying that, “ELEX is going to be edgy, dark, uncompromising, complex, and we love it already.” The game has a website, which says ELEX is set in a “brand new post-apocalyptic science-fantasy universe.”
The game “puts players into a huge seamless game world full of original characters, mutated creatures, deep moral choices, and powerful action,” according to its official description. ELEX will make its true debut at Gamescon in August, which is when we will have more descriptions and pictures released for the public eye.
