Creative Director for The Elder Scrolls Online, Paul Sage, has left Zenimax Online Stuidos for Gearbox Software. The company is currently working on producing Battleborn and Borderlands 3.
The Elder Scrolls Online was not Sages first work on a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game(MMORPG, or MMO), previously working on Ultima Online back in 1997.
The news for Paul Sage’s resignation was confirmed via the official Elder Scrolls Online forums.
Rich Lambert will be replacing Paul Sage as Creative Director. Previously Lambert worked as a Lead Content Designer on The Elder Scrolls Online, and worked on The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
Although the post details how happy he is with the game, “We can confirm that Paul left ZOS after the launch of ESOTU on console. He, along with rest of the team, are very happy with how the game is doing and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
It does come at awkward timing for the company. With The Elder Scrolls Online only releasing one month ago, Paul Sages decision to leave the company doesn’t reflect well on the game, which received only a 71 on metacritic.
